Rent

This is money due to a landlord, which may include a weekly rent payment due, along with a contribution to water rates, or more specifically, water usage. 

In the event that you fail to pay your rent on time, then you will be in breach of your tenancy agreement. If not remedied within 21 days entitles your landlord to apply to the Tenancy Tribunal for a termination order, and if granted will mean you would need to vacate the property, and most likely lose any bond given to the landlord when the agreement was first entered into. 

If you rent your home, payment of the rent is the most important household expense that needs to be paid in priority to other forms of debt or expenses, as otherwise you may be left homeless.
